Crann Tara derives from the Gaelic for Fiery Cross, the history behind the name and the symbol, it was decided, would be appropriate in the use as our group name. As Crann Tara, our aims and objectives include preserving the history, culture and heritage of Scotland as well making sure that the country will be left in proper hands, ensuring that her future will be secure as well. The group was formed in the wake of the 700 th anniversary of William Wallace's murder in London, 25th of August 2005. From this time we have been striving to inspire and re-kindle passions within those who have either had or have Scotland's interests close to their heart.

The Scottish Crown has a long and complex history. From a number of local rulers governing separate territories and peoples, a single king emerged by the beginning of the twelfth century to govern most of what is today's Scotland.

Charles III - Charles Edward Stuart, Bonnie Prince Charlie       The House of Stuart or Stewart was a royal house of the Kingdom of Scotland, later also of the Kingdom of England, and finally of the Kingdom of Great Britain. Mary Queen of Scots adopted the French spelling Stuart while in France to ensure that the Scots Stewart was pronounced correctly. The name itself originates from the ancient hereditary Scottish title High Steward of Scotland.       James Francis Edward Stuart - The Old Pretender.
